Common questions

Why is my yard empty?

It may be night where your yard is. The birds are asleep, and the yard tells you when they'll be back. If it's daytime, check that your feeders have food in them. A new yard only gets common birds at first, and the others find it during its first week.

Why isn't the weather the same as outside my window?

Your yard has the weather of its own region, which may be far from you. Without an internet connection, the yard uses the usual weather for the time of year, and the weather card says so.

I bought North America. How do I get it on another iPad?

Sign in with the same Apple Account, then tap Restore Purchases in the game's Settings or on the Yards screen. Family Sharing shares it with your family too.

Will my yards come with me to a new iPad?

The game keeps your progress on your iPad, not online. To bring it along, set up your new iPad from a backup of the old one, made with iCloud or a computer. Deleting the game deletes your progress.

What is "Visit for a day"?

You can try any habitat beyond your home free for a day, until midnight there. Afterward, the game keeps that yard just as you left it, and buying North America opens it again for good.

How do I turn notifications on or off?

In the game's Settings, under Notifications, you'll find one switch for nest news and one for empty feeders. Notifications never come between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. If you said no when the game first asked, turn them on in your iPad's Settings, under Notifications, then Birdtopia.

How do I choose the narrator, or turn the sound down?

In the game's Settings, choose Archie or Skye and how loud they read. You can also turn the yard's own sounds up, down or off.

Can I see the tour again?

Yes. Open Settings and tap Show the tour again.

Is there a version for iPhone?

Not yet. For now, Birdtopia is for iPad.

Does the game collect anything about me?

No, nothing at all. Read the privacy policy to learn more.
