Privacy policy

In short: Birdtopia collects no personal information. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. Your yards, the name you choose and your settings stay on your iPad.

Juan Jurado ("we") makes Birdtopia, a game for iPad. This policy explains what the game and this website do with information.

What stays on your iPad

The game keeps your progress in its own storage on your iPad: the name you choose, your yards and everything in them, the birds you've seen, any notes you write, and your settings. The game never sends any of it to us or to anyone else. Deleting the game deletes it too. Like the rest of your iPad's data, it may go into a backup you make with iCloud or a computer, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.

Weather

Each yard shows the weather of its region. To get it, the game asks Apple Weather (WeatherKit) for the weather at a fixed town that stands in for the region. The game never asks for or uses your own location, and it sends nothing about you. Apple's privacy policy covers how Apple handles these requests. When the game can't get the weather, it makes up the usual weather for the time of year, right on your iPad.

Purchases

You buy things through the App Store, and Apple handles the payment. We never see your payment details or your Apple Account. The game only asks the App Store, on your iPad, which purchases you own.

Notifications

If you allow them, the game schedules notifications about its nests and feeders, right on your iPad. Nothing goes to us or to a server, and you can turn them off in the game's Settings or in your iPad's Settings.

Children

Birdtopia is for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, so it collects none from children.

This website

birdtopia.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics, ads or trackers. Cloudflare hosts the site and, like any web host, may keep ordinary records of requests, such as IP addresses, to run and protect it. Cloudflare's privacy policy covers those records.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new date. We'll never change it to collect your information without your clear consent.
